I last tried it in March, and I remember having to load one save 10 times with the excruciatingly long load time each try, despite my hardware being great before I was actually able to see anything and not have a 'Camera out of sectors' error.
If I could guarantee it would just work, that would be fantastic and I'd play it over any other sub sim unless we get a new, up-to-date, proper silent hunter or silent hunter successor but I can't justify the time spent trying to get it to work.

I have yet to play past 1 Sept ! I have already started to encounter those too. Save game corruption would seem to be something that would plague the core game design, and be worsened by the mod.
You're also legit to point out the long load times. There is also a non-trivial learning curve to get the mod and gameplay settings mastered and setup to one's liking and get on with an actual campaign!
It's easy to fix I'm playing full realism. I have no external cameras, nor camera shortcuts. The only way to hopefully fix it is to reload the save and eventually that works.
Plus, I seem to have it happen most often in the sub pen, which is not on the boat and thus doesn't have the same camera options anyway.

You can also put to a good use optional 'Campaign Advance Verifier Testing' TWoS addon which will tell you will the automatic campaign transfer be successful upon loading a gamesave.
Note that if you are getting persistent ' problem detected ' messages with this addon even after reloads, the message may be false positive actually.
Alternatively you can use this workaround which will work for sure even if campaign chapter ending date is passed for a few days SH5 campaign progress workaround - We have 'Enigma' machine too?
